Tribre · Solo

Roles, in plural — the way most working lives actually look.

You hold several at once. The title-and-tenure model only sees one. Tribre · Solo gives the rest a place — purpose, current commitment, who reports to whom, and what each role actually asks of you.

The shift

Career paths used to be one role at a time. Most working lives don't look like that anymore.

A full-time job, a fractional advisory, a writing thread that pays sometimes — these aren't "sides" or "gigs." They're roles, held in parallel, each with its own commitments. The vocabulary for naming them is missing, so we keep mashing them into a single job title.

Tribre · Solo gives that portfolio its own language.

Tribre · Solo

One module — for the working life you actually have.

Tribre · Solo lets you write each role you hold as its own durable thing — purpose, current commitment, what you owe it, what it owes you. The portfolio sums to a working life that's legible to you, to people you collaborate with, and (when you choose) to people you might collaborate with next.

A product engineer holds a full-time role at one company, a fractional CTO role at a startup, and a writing role on roles-and-AI. Tribre describes each as its own role with its own time, output, and relationships, instead of forcing all three into "Senior Software Engineer + side projects."

In practice

Three shapes a working life might recognize.

Mid-career, holding several roles at once

You're full-time at one place, advising another, and writing about the work in a third context. None of those alone describes what you do; together, they do. Tribre lets you name each role honestly, with its own commitments and language.

Career switcher mapping what stays

You're leaving an industry. The job title goes; the portfolio doesn't. Research, writing, teaching threads carry across the move. Tribre is the language for naming the continuity — what changes, what survives, what the next role can build on.

Resisting the title

You don't want a job title. You have a portfolio. Tribre is built for that — roles named in plain language, with what each one asks and gives, instead of one collapsing label that doesn't fit anyone.

Role Call · Featured essay

Career paths broke. Career portfolios are what's replacing them.

Career paths assumed one role at a time. Career portfolios assume several. The cornerstone essay reframes what "role" even means when working lives go plural — and what that means for individuals naming theirs.
